Our
Story

I have spent a great deal of my life on the Gulf Coast of Texas. While I love Texas and will always be a Texan at heart, I became fairly traumatized by the hurricane weather disasters that come straight towards this area every single season. By my teenage years, I had come to the decision that of all things I may be able to have control over, the weather was not one.

I took to Google with my search. "Where are there no natural disasters". The great SEO had by some travel magazines started me on the path of exploring international options. I quickly set my heart on Panama with my teenaged research. A year later, a college professor recommended Costa Rica. I reluctantly began considering it in my deeper researches, and settled on it a year after my previous decision.

Since then it has been my dream to live here.

I didn't actually make it here until 2016 for my first experience. I was immediately enamored. The nature, the people, the lifestyle. Of course, like many people who visit here, I began to assess what a move here would entail. More researches.

There is a great amount of information available online. Many resources that hope to help, with their pros and cons and do's and don'ts! A fortunate time we live in, that we can learn from others mistakes.

One recurring message for me was to experience being here more than just for a vacation. What I gathered was that one should spend an entire year in the location they have their heart set on before attempting any sort of settling in that place. The weather changes drastically from wet winter season to dry summer season, and even day to day, within the seasons. The bugs! That's what would send me away, if anything ever. The culture. That can be a tough one as well, depending on your mindset coming in to it. Being away from all you have known, your family, friends, and acquaintances. Normal moving issues.

I obviously wasn't moving here instantly. I had a property in Texas I wasn't utilizing. For a long time, I had plans to offer for rent living space. I was convinced by some to open an RV park to utilize the property. It seemed like a fair idea and I was excited. Now I had responsibility to be there. When I want to be in Costa Rica.

I was able to make another trip in 2021. I had opened the Texas park a few years earlier. While here, the idea came to me.

If people are supposed to experience Costa Rica before moving here, why are there not RV parks!? People love to take their home with them. Hotels are expensive and impersonal. Renting apartments or houses can become complicated. The contracts, agreeing on time periods, then furnishing the place, then moving all of that. Not purchasing anything in the meanwhile, not owning anything afterwards. All of the benefits of RV ownership would work so well here. If there were multiple parks, in different areas, one could take their home where ever they like, experience all the different micro climates. Really choose the place they like best. OR, maybe decide they don't even need to own property after all! Living here with the freedom to move wherever you feel best might be better than settling in any single place ever.

The more I have considered it, the more I feel like I wish it was an option available to me. An option I would be proud to offer to others. The freedom to live in Costa Rica, as long as you would like, just exactly where you would like.

And if you do find the place that calls to your heart and you would like to settle, you have already experienced it, and you have your home ready to take there. Perfect place to live while you determine the very best location on your actual property to build the house of your dreams. Because that is another important aspect I have learned matters very much!

So that is how RVinCR came in to my mind, and to life. Whether you come to experience the Rio Celeste Waterfall in Volcano Tenorio National Park and stay one night, or choose to stay a year to wake up every morning with beautiful views of the volcano and hummingbirds everyday, I sincerely hope you enjoy your time here, and are able to gain much from it. I am happy to offer any advice I have learned over my travels and experiences, so feel free to reach out anytime!
